ABOUT US
MAKING AI MORE RESPONSIBLE AND ACCESSIBLE.
Prome Project is a small organization based in Los Angeles, CA working to help shape the new era of artificial intelligence. AI has the potential to transform how we create, discover, learn, and solve some of humanity's biggest challenges. We believe people should have a say in how AI is built and used from the data behind these systems and the biases they can carry, to the decisions they make and the infrastructure that powers them. AI should advance society without putting people, communities, or our planet behind profit. Our mission is simple: help make safe, responsible, and beneficial AI available to everyone and ensure humanity remains at the center of its future.
To make AI work better for people, we need to:
Set clear standards for responsible AI
Define practical requirements for transparency, accountability, fairness, safety, data responsibility, and human impact.
Work with organizations to improve and verify their AI
Help AI companies and organizations identify gaps, strengthen their practices, and demonstrate that their systems meet the Human AI Standard™.
Expand access to responsible AI where it can do the most good
Partner with nonprofits, educators, community organizations, and other local partners to bring useful AI tools and knowledge to underserved communities.
We call this framework Set–Improve–Expand, and it provides the backbone for our work to make AI more responsible, accessible, and beneficial to people.
How we work
Prome Project provides the standards, guidance, and partnerships needed to help organizations build and deploy AI that puts people first.
Specifically, we:
Work with AI companies to improve responsible AI
We work with AI developers, technology companies, and organizations to identify gaps in their AI practices and help them understand how to meet the Human AI Standard™. This includes evaluating areas such as transparency, accountability, fairness, safety, data responsibility, and human impact.
Provide practical guidance to organizations and policymakers
We translate responsible AI principles into practical standards and guidance that organizations can use when developing, deploying, and governing AI systems. We also aim to contribute research and recommendations to policymakers as AI governance continues to develop.
Partner with communities to expand access to AI
We work alongside nonprofits, educators, community organizations, and local partners to bring AI education, tools, and opportunities to underserved communities. We focus on helping people understand and benefit from AI—not simply become users of it.
